App of the Week – Skitch

This week’s featured app, Skitch, is part of the Evernote family of apps. Skitch is an annotation application that allows you to markup picture, documents, maps, and other graphics with shapes, arrows, and sketches in order to share ideas. Skitch can be downloaded as a free app for mobile devices such as iPads, iPhones, and Android devices (click HERE for iPad download | click HERE for iPhone download | click HERE for android download). However, it can also be downloaded and used in your desktop computers (click HERE for mac download | click HERE for windows download). All files annotated with the Sketch app end up being saved in a notebook in Evernote, and they are easily shared by email, social networks, and direct links. Below you will find a brief demonstration of how Skitch works (the desktop version is very similar to the touch version). Skitch can be a great tool when grading student’s papers or for students to annotate images, maps, or highlight text. For more details on how to use this app click HERE. If you have used this app in your classroom please let us know by commenting on this post! We would love to learn about your personal experiences and we would love to share them with other Texas Wesleyan folks!
