CETL Recognized as an Exemplary Teaching and Learning Center

The Texas Wesleyan CETL was honored at the 25th International Conference on College Teaching and Learning. The CETL was selected as an Exemplary Teaching and Learning Center by the Center for Advancement of Teaching and Learning at Florida State College at Jacksonville from 107 respondents in a national study of teaching and learning centers conducted in the Fall of 2013. The CETL was 1 of 10 universities to be recognized at the conference.

According to the iTunes description more than  25% of the top Universities in the U.S. use VoiceThread to connect and communicate around digital media. Simple type is a phrase and wordeo automatically finds video and audio clips to illustrate your quote/phrase. What is does is it sends you randomly times surveys each days and with the answers that you provide you can create reports to understand things that you care about such as how much time you have spent studying, doing research, reading, and anything else since the app allows you to customize your surveys. APP OF THE WEEK – Nearpod

The app of the week this week is called Nearpod. It was named the “Best Collaboration Solution” by EdTech Digest Awards 2012 and “Audience Favorite” at LAUNCH Edu & Kids 2012. It is a free app that allows presenters to create or download interactive media presentations and then you can share the presentation with the students while fully controlling it.
